neck
again deviating from gore and gilet i decided to bind the front of the headstock. like the backstrap this required some forward thinking about the geometry of the headstock to neck transition. especially for where the binding intersects the fretboard. i'm not sure how this is typically done, but it seemed to make sense to wait to do the final binding ledge shaping by hand after the fretboard is glued on and the neck is brought down to final width.
